AcuSense Cameras

Hikvision has come out with AcuSense cameras and Network Video Recorders. AcuSense cameras can precisely detect human and vehicle movement versus non-human objects. This will provide an effective intrusion detection and greatly reduce false alarms in any environment. Even a customer who has a budget can choose to go with an AcuSense camera. They can get the latest intelligent surveillance features and significant false alarm reduction.

The key AcuSense benefits are:

  • False alarm reduction – focus on only important events
  • Quick target search – find important events fast
  • Strobe lighting and audio alarm message – deter intruders
  • AcuSense cameras can be used with any Hikvision “I” series or AcuSense series NVRs

AcuSense cameras come in different types. They have domes, turrets and bullet cameras. Some have fixed lenses, and some are varifocal. The one you chose depends on your needs.

FALSE ALARM

False alarm reduction is amazing technology. It will help avoid wasting time and money on non-threatening events, with quick and more accurate intrusion detection. Meaning that if it detects a bird, cat, leaves, or trees it will not alert you, but if it sees a human it will send an alert.

QUICK TARGET SEARCH

Quick target search is a feature that will also help save time. It can identify footage of people and vehicles automatically, so you do not have to search footage manually. In the network video recorder (NVR) you can easily choose from a menu to search by people or vehicles.

STROBE LIGHTING AND AUDIO ALARM

The strobe lighting and audio alarm message will enhance deterrence. Once potential intruders have been accurately detected, the AcuSense camera triggers the built-in strobe light and audio alarm to warn the intruder before they act. The strobe light and alarm can be used during the day and night.

NOTE: SMART SEARCH AND FALSE ALARM SEARCH ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN ACUSENSE NVRs

The ideal application for the AcuSense cameras and NVR are entrances and exits, perimeter fences, restricted spaces, parking lots, outdoor storage, car lots, construction sites and more.

Pelco DF5 Upgrade

Do you run a casino, commercial building, a mall, healthcare facility, a school or fine dining restaurant? You probably have cameras and they probably have Pelco DF5 camera enclosures. The Pelco DF5 camera enclosures are low profile dome enclosures that can be used discreetly to house a Pelco fixed CCTV camera in an indoor location.

The cameras that were installed in the DF5 enclosure were compact box cameras. Many end users using these cameras and camera enclosures haven’t wanted to upgrade their system to a modern full HD camera because of the cost. Now Hikvision has made it possible with not one, but two camera models that will fit inside the legacy DF5 dome housing. The cameras that Hikvision are offering are:

  • an IP camera - for users making the switch to an IP network and
  • an HD-TVI camera - for users that aren’t making the switch to an IP network.

In either case, the legacy analog recording system will also need to be upgraded, which you can do with Hikvision because they have complete solutions.

IP NETWORK CAMERA

The IP network camera is a 2-megapixel dome camera with a 1920x1080 resolution at 30 fps. It provides detailed close-ups. The lens is a motorized varifocal lens that ranges from 6 to 22 mm to accommodate high ceilings. The standard dome is clear, but you can get a smoked dome as well. It will work indoors and outdoors with IP67 and IK weather and impact protection. In order to upgrade you will have to also get the D5F adapter which is a retrofit in-ceiling back box.

HD-TVI ANALOG CAMERA

The analog camera is a compact 2-megapixel HD analog box camera with a 1920x1080 resolution at 30 fps that will provide close-up details. It has a low-light sensor and is compatible with C/CS mount lenses. With the box camera it directly replaces the legacy compact analog box camera, so no need for the adapter. There are two lens options that you can get for the box camera as well. Both are manual varifocal; one is 2.7 to 13 mm and the other is 5 to 50 mm.

When you are ready to upgrade your Pelco camera system give us a call and we will help you with your decision on which camera to get.

Social Distancing

Due to the current situation, the global pandemic, the CDC has issued a few recommendations that everyone should follow. Some of the recommendations are; social distancing, wear a face covering, use hand sanitizer, wash your hands frequently, and the biggest one is if you aren’t feeling well to stay home.

Because of the CDC guidelines a lot of stores and restaurants are having to change how they do business. Social distancing and occupancy are a big part in the guidelines. The CDC is saying to limit the number of guests in your business to help reduce the numbers of Coronavirus.

Hikvision has created a dual-lens people counting density camera that can assist in social distancing. They have indoor and outdoor models that accurately count people, track occupancy, and measure distance between people.

Hikvision’s YouTube video, Density and Social Distancing, illustrates how the density cameras operate to support social distancing.

The features on both models of cameras are:

  •     People counting for business intelligence
  •     Social distance measurement for safety
  •     Social density tracking for safety
  •     Minimum illumination color: 0.0176 lux @ f/2.5, B/W: 0 lux with IR
  •     Mainstream: 30 fps

School Temperature Checks

When the coronavirus pandemic started everything everywhere shut down. People were in a panic because they didn't have all of the information. They thought that all of the stores were going to close. People that worked in the hospitality industry were laid off. People that worked in an office setting and were able to work from home did exactly that. Teachers had it hard as well, they had to figure out how they were going to teach their students with very little notice.

Now there is uncertainty for the future. Businesses and the hospitality industry are getting the green light to open with certain measures in place. For example; wearing masks in public, temperature testing before you go into a business, washing your hands, and socially distancing.

If schools get to open for fall semester they are going to have the same general rules. Desks are going to have to be placed 6ft apart, there will be staggered pick up and drop off, closed common areas, additional transportation to increase spacing, limited nonessential visitors, temperature checks, and no extracurricular activities that require close contact. Teachers and the older students should also wear cloth face coverings, particularly when it is difficult to practice social distancing.

Temperature prescreening can be quickly done with Hikvision's thermographic cameras. The benefits of doing a temperature pre-screen before teachers, staff and children go into the school are:

  • Lessen Risk of Exposure
  • Extremely Safe - Contactless Measurement from a Distance
  • Instant One-Second Screening
  • Smart - Only Screens Human Skin Surface
  • Accurate up to ± 0.5 Degrees Fahrenheit with Blackbody Calibrator

How to Resume Your Hospitality Business

With Coronavirus everyone is trying to figure out the new normal of the world. Some think that in a blink of an eye it is going to go back to the way it was; masks will disappear, people will hug or shake hands with one another again, and friends will get to go out together again. Others think that this is the new normal; masks will stay, no one will hug, handshakes will permanently be fist or elbow bumps, and we will still stay 6ft and not go out with our friends.

The hospitality industry has faced a lot of challenges the last few months due to coronavirus. They were shut down for months and no one knew what was going to happen. A lot of businesses have had to close their doors for good. Now they are starting to reopen, and they are going to be facing a whole new set of challenges.

The CDC has been giving out recommendations for reopening businesses and a lot of governors have also set up strict guidelines for the reopening of businesses. In order to protect hospitality workers, guests, visitors, and vendors CDC recommends temperature screening before entry into establishments. Hikvision worked hard to come up with a temperature detection camera that can provide advanced screening. Their camera can quickly pre-screen everyone before they enter.

There are different types of temperature screenings that you can use for your establishment. Thermographic Cameras; handheld and mounted, Temperature screening terminal.
